Teller needs a commissioner who's already done the job.
Dennis Luttrell served Teller as commissioner from 1983 to 1990. He built the Florissant/Divide fire districts. He’s running to serve Teller again — and he’ll donate every after tax dollar of the $106,325 salary ($425,300 over the 4 year term) to local nonprofits that support Teller County.

Three problems Dennis knows how to solve.
Wildfire is here.
Teller sits in high-risk terrain, and the county has to work both ends of it. On prevention, Dennis will make mitigation a standing priority — clearing fuels, hardening homes, and partnering with the community. On readiness, he’ll fix a county that’s gone months without an Emergency Management Director and has no posted evacuation routes — getting a director in place, routes mapped, and fire districts, volunteers, and residents ready to move as one. He’s spent a lifetime in the fire service and serves as a director of the Divide Fire Protection District.
Our youth, seniors, and public servants are being priced out.
Dennis won a HUD John J. Gunther Award for an innovative approach to building affordable housing for low-to-moderate-income workers like entry-level public service employees and teachers in a Rhode Island city twice Teller’s size. While in Massachusetts, he won a distinct state-level award for a low-income housing project focused on historic preservation. He’ll bring the same approach home — for teachers, first responders, and Teller residents on fixed incomes.
Make government work — and spend wisely.
Dennis spent a career managing city and county budgets, and he’ll bring that discipline home — using a Total-Quality Management approach to cut waste, streamline services, and get more out of every taxpayer dollar. With property-tax bills climbing, he’ll look hard at every honest avenue to ease the burden on Teller residents. Dennis promises to NOT raise the mil levy and property taxes.
Around the County
Dennis is always ready to engage with voters and share his plans for the future of Teller County.

Those who have worked with Dennis.
From the firefighters he negotiated with to the residents whove watched him work, people who know Dennis best are backing him.
Dennis Luttrell will be donating his commissioners salary back to the people of Teller County — he plans to work for free as a true public servant. He has an extensive background in industry, capitalism, and county government, helped set up the fire districts in Divide and Florissant, and has proven himself an environmentalist and hard worker.
Mr. Luttrell is a gentleman of the highest caliber, ideals, and is a true public servant. It has been my experience that these personal characteristics are not only publicly prevalent, but are even more conspicuous behind closed doors, where negotiations and difficult decisions must be made.
